The government has yet again decided to postpone the release of HIP’s. They were supposed to be mandatory from the 1st June, but have been delayed again until the 1st of August where they will only be mandatory for sales of houses with over 4 bedrooms.
We have already seen an increase in the ammount of properties coming to the market as the home owners have tried to avoid the deadline and potentially save themselves some money. HIP’s (home information packs) will undoubtedly add to the cost of selling a property with the seller being asked to foot the bill for the £600 plus HIP.
